Mary Dressed for a Cause: Red

"A Weeks Worth of Laundry" is a series that evolved after the "Ghost Mary" project.

The previous Virgin Mary series yielded a desire to portray the icon in something other than the perpetual blue. I imagine that she might enjoy having a broader range of wardrobe options. The series, inspired by religious lawn ornamentation located in Sterling Heights, MI, presents Mary in seven different colored robes.

Taking notice of the practice of dressing animal statues to support athletic teams or seasonal holidays, I project that today’s Virgin Mary might select to dress in support of a cause and have drawn her sporting activist ribbons with matching colored robes.
