2013

In order to capture this view for the paintings, Install, De-Install, Re-Install: I painted it, but it took 11 additional people to make it happen. (Thank you Robert Zahorsky, Corrie Baldauf, Michelle Perron, Andrew Thomson, Jason Dudycha, Todd Erickson, Darrin Brouhard, Hamilton Poe, Amanda Thatch, Bill Atwood & PD Rearick) and Some of us are Working Real Hard, two large sculptures and multiple soft sculptures were installed in the gallery several months before the exhibition opening. Photos were taken to document the light and composition of the art placed in the room and serve as source material for the site-specific paintings. While we had access to the Center Galleries to set up and stage the work prior to our show, the gallery needed to be cleared for an exhibition running between the staging and the opening and the sculptures had to be deinstalled, moved back to studio, then re-installed again for the actual exhibition. Hence the long title and the reality that it "takes a village."
